Cookware, Tableware, and Photography Gear Details & Recommendations

Updated January 2024!

Here it is! A list of cookware/tableware as well as photography gear that we use in our kitchen/home. Every single item here is something that I currently use. Please contact me via email contact.sheilshukla@gmail.com with any questions or if you are having any trouble finding the items listed here.

Full disclosure: I put a lot of time and effort into my work here and it is a true passion of mine. I make little to no income from this site (since it’s completely ad free at this time). Some of the links (i.e. Amazon only) are affiliate links which means that if you purchase from the link provided I receive a small amount of compensation at no extra cost to you. This allows me to keep doing what I do and providing my very best to you all, so I appreciate the support! Again I genuinely recommend all of these products, and I will never share links to products I don’t find useful. Please note that nothing on this page should constitute as medical advise.

Cookware/Appliances:

Breville Pizzaiolo Pizza Oven - An absolutely phenomenal indoor home pizza oven. There are many indoor and outdoor pizza ovens on the market but this has worked particularly well for us (and we’re able use it even during the cold months in Chicagoland!)

Le Creuset dutch oven Le Creuset braiser I’ve been using Le Creuset dutch oven and braiser for several years. Extremely high quality, easy to clean/maintain, and retains heat very well.

Nutribullet blender is hands down my favorite blender of all time. Makes perfect smoothies, ultra smooth cashew cream, nut milks, sauces, and more.

Shardor spice/coffee grinder It’s great to have a spice/coffee grinder on hand and I especially like this for it’s stainless steel cups.

Instant Pot Duo Mini - I’m a BIG fan of this electric pressure cooker. I use this smaller size since its perfect for our household of 2.5.

Cuisinart fine mesh strainers Three different sizes for a wide variety of purposes such as straining chai or rinsing rice.

Sur La Table measuring cups My favorite measuring cups. Very dishwasher friendly. I have been using these for several years

Breville Nespresso Creatista - We’ve been using this fantastic machine for creating the best home lattes for about two years now. If you have the space and budget, it’s definitely worth it!

Nespresso Essenza Plus coffee machine - We used this machine for a while when we had a smaller kitchen. Great for smaller spaces or if you don’t make espresso as often!

Pyrex Glass Measuring Cup Set - great all purpose glass measuring vessels. Heat resistant so I use them for chai and other hot liquids!

Le Creuset Mini Round Cocotte - I use this to store salt on the counter! I received this as a gift.

Cuisinart Mini Food Processor - A great all purpose mini food processor for making pesto and other sauces/purees.

Microplane - great for zesting citrus and grating nutmeg

Microplane (larger) - I use this for grating ginger!

Nordic Ware baking sheets - great quality sheet pans. We use half sheet and quarter sheet sizes!

CeramicS:

Golden Ratio Clay Works - I love the clean aesthetic of Soula’s work. She is the maker of the ceramic thali set on the cover of my cookbook!

East Fork Pottery - Our tableware is primarily from East Fork Pottery thoughtfully made in Asheville, NC.

Monsoon Pottery - Stunning Asian-inspired pots by Chicago-based Danielle.

This Quiet Dust Ceramics - Based in Lake Forest, IL, Dubhe creates beautiful ceramic pieces with an elegant aesthetic.

Photography Gear:

Canon EOS R - My primary camera since January 2021. Lightweight full frame camera. I used this to shoot my cookbook. Note that it does require an adapter for the lenses I’ve listed below.

Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens - My first lens and one that I still use! A great all purpose starter lens for those beginning with food photography.

Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4 lens - Really great lens, works particularly well with crop sensor cameras for the purpose of food photography.

Manfrotto tripod - phenomenal tripod. Durable, steady, easy to use. I’ve been using this one for several years

Adobe Lightroom is my go-to editing software. I use the desktop app as well as the phone app and I buy the annual subscription. There are a lot of tutorials online and in the app itself.
