Sheil Shukla, DO

Hi there! I am a Chicagoland-based, board-certified internal medicine physician, artist, creator, and cookbook author. I am passionate about plant-based nutrition and its applications to clinical medicine. I am the creator, recipe developer, and food photographer of @plantbasedartist on Instagram with over 90,000 followers. Although I love exploring new cultures through their foods, my culinary interests are in South Asian and East Asian cuisines including the regional “thali” tradition of Gujarat, India. I live in the north Chicagoland suburbs with my wife Rachel and three children Shrey, Radhi, and Reva.

My first cookbook, Plant-Based India: Nourishing Recipes Rooted in Tradition (The Experiment, August 2022) is NOW available wherever books are sold! Click here for more details.
